first day – fasten your seatbelts

October 31, 2007 - One Response

Hi there folks,

The flights were fine and on time. The international flight was cool. Since there was so few people the flight attendant let people stretch out across the center aisle to get some shut eye. I tried to use my phone…so much for keeping in touch with my cell. It doesn’t work here. I will try to either find a cheap one (the kind you use with calling cards) or I will just use the land line when I check into Rue Amelie tomorrow 1 Nov. 2007…I think :0) I think I have a bad case of jet lag…no, I know I do.
Anyway, I had an okay first day. It was rough getting to the hotel from the metro. I took the train fine and like I thought it is similar to riding the T. There is a map of stops outside, and several inside the train. Unlike the T, the only French I understand well is on the metro! omg.

Since my plane was very early I could not check into the hotel right away when I arrived. I had to leave my carry on in the hotel and then go back out to the city. I really wanted to rest instead I just walked around the block and guess what…Starbucks! Woohoo. I was so excited I could rest my feet, drink some tea, read a book for a while. It was pretty good. Then, I found Boulinier a used book, dvd, cd whatever else store. They were blasting a Michael Jackson cd like it was just released! Oh, I had to laugh and that cheered me up. Hi there,

Okay so this is my first entry on this new blog. I hope to share my experiences while I’m travelling. It is a good way for people to check in with me too, so feel free to comment and ask questions or just give encouragement.
